creative systems

So what system works best for you when working on web development and design.
I have come up with a few ideas and my system that works for me, see below:

Screen Resolution

  • 1440 x 900

  • MacBook Pro 15″
  • 2 GHz Intel Core Duo
  • 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Operating System

  • Mac OS X 10.4.9 & Windows XP Professional

My Personal Opinion

I generally go by the rule that for all online projects I use two systems:
One which is my MAC which has no little than 1gb ram and no less than 2ghz, i also use a PC for browser testing which works great for me.
In future posts I will post some useful links i have found and use when developing a project for the web. So stay tuned!

I use this system for Web Development and Web Design and it runs perfectly with no lag and fast load times.

Please speak up and let me know what your recommendations are and what you use your system for.

I believe you have pretty much covered it.

Some people could argue that designing on 1440×900 isn’t really that well thought out, since eventually your designs WILL be bigger than 800×600 or 1024×768 (just a designer’s tendency). I do not rely on such comments much though.

Back when we were designing stuff for 800×600, revolutionary designers were designing their portfolios and client sites at 1024×768 AND higher. Why? To stay ahead. Simple.

Right now, people may say that optimizing a site for 1024×768 is the best policy but then again, within an year or two, much higher resolutions will be the norms and so.

Anyway, what am I ranting on about?

My system specs. are 2 GBs of RAM, 512 MBs of dedicated video mem., AMD clocking at 2.2 GHz and I’m running on XP Pro.

    What I use it for:

    - Music production
    - 3D animation/Still renders
    - Web design/Graphics design
    - GAMING!

On a max 1280×1024 resolution but that’s my TFT’s shortcoming.

So yea there. One giant, incoherent rant from my side. :P
